现代国际设计艺术学院是国家教育部批准、复核的中外合作办学机构（许可证编号MOE50NLA02DNR20030001O）,是重庆工商大学与荷兰国际科教文基金会联合建立的一个中外合作设计艺术学院(公办二本)，校址设在学校本部(兰花湖片区)。(详见教育部网站：http://www.crs.jsj.edu.cn/more_info_dep.php?serv_id=19）
Modern International Art and Design Academy (abbrev. MIADA), a Chinese-foreign joint educational institution, was approved by the Ministry of Education, with the certification number MOE50NLA02DNR20030001O.

学院办学理念先进、定位准确。学院立足西方先进的设计教育思想、方法和中国悠久文化、艺术之积淀，充分依托学校经济、管理等学科专业优势，旨在培养思维型、能力型和潜力型的国际化高级设计艺术专门人才。
MIADA holds an advanced educational philosophy and accurate positioning; with a foothold of western design education ideas and methods, and Chinese profound culture and art background, it relies on the professional advantages of economic and management disciplines by the university to cultivate the students with thinking, capability and potential as international and professional design talents.

学院办学特色鲜明：
MIADA’s Distinctive Characteristics

1、拥有一流的国际化师资力量。学院建立了一支优秀的外籍教学师资队伍，他们主要来自欧洲和其他国家的高校和企业、设计公司等单位，其中：硕士学历占56.25%，博士学历占6.25%；教授占25%。
First-class international faculty and staff work in MIADA, they mainly come from universities, enterprises and design studios from Europe and other countries. 56.25% of them hold masters degree, and 6.25% hold doctoral degrees and 25% of the staff are professors.

2、实施国际化设计课程体系。专业课教学主要采用英文原版教材、教参和国内知名出版社的引进版教材，占专业教材、教参的52%。
International curricula are implemented in MIADA. 52% of all teaching materials are original English teaching materials and reference books.

3、具备国际化教学语言与环境。学院实施国际化教学语言，具有良好的国际语言交流环境，高度重视学生英语交流沟通能力的培养。
It has international language and environment. English is the main teaching language, and students’ English communication ability is highly enhanced.

4、建有先进的教学、科研设施、设备。建有多媒体教室、语音教室，图书资料室、电子阅览室，苹果和IBM电脑机房，数码输入、输出中心，专业摄影实训室等。
Modern and excellent facilities and equipment are set up; there are multi-media classrooms, sound labs, library, E-reading room, MAC and IBM computer rooms, digital input and output center, professional photography studio, and etc.

5、走开放式的办学之路。为学生提供国际化的专业设计理念、方法与信息, 积极促进国际交流与实践。学生在国内外的设计竞赛等活动中取得了良好成绩。
MIADA takes open mode of running the school. It provides the students with international design concepts, methods and information, and promotes the international exchanges and practice. Students have achieved good results in design competitions at home and abroad.

6、加强国际合作与交流。组织优秀学生赴欧洲高校学习交流（3个月）、合作学院有The Kampen (Zwolle) Visual Art Academy (堪培视觉艺术学院)、The Hague University(海牙大学)、 (HZ) University (哲兰特大学)等。与欧洲著名的Total　Identity设计公司（欧洲15大设计公司之一）建立了专业的实习基地。
International cooperation and exchanges are strengthened. Some outstanding students are selected to participate in courses in European universities for around 3 months. The Kampen (Zwolle) Visual Art Academy, The Hague University and Hogeschool Zeeland (HZ) Univesity are the cooperative universities. Internship base is set up in Total Identity, which is one of the top 15 design companies in Europe.

学院自2003年招生以来，现有在校全日制本科学生346人。2007-2009年已有三届毕业生。学院毕业率、授位率、就业率高，毕业生大多数在国内外企事业单位从事专业设计和管理工作，部分学生继续在国内外的高等院校学习深造。
Since the first recruitment in 2003, there are at present 346 students registered. The percentages of graduation, degree-granting and students’ employment are ranked high in the university. Most of the graduates have obtained the opportunity to work in private and state-owned enterprises at home and abroad as designers or management staff, some of them continue further studies in domestic or overseas higher education institutions.
